Friday’s Top 10 Verticals I like to Target

I’ve learned that not all “open” signs are worth stopping for. I’ve spent the last few years refocusing my hit list, focusing on the spots where the average tickets are higher and the owners don’t mind cash discounting.

With Dual Pricing now being the standard, these are the niches where I’m seeing the biggest wins. When you can look a business owner in the eye and show them how to wiped out 100% of their processing costs on a $2,000 repair bill, the deal practically closes itself.

Here’s my personal Top 10 countdown for this Friday.

From the Home office in Residual Junction, TX. here are this

Friday’s Top 10 Verticals I like to Target

10. Donut & Breakfast Shops

II like these because most are high-volume, and it gets me a “YES” before my second glass of Coke zero. They love Dual Pricing because it covers the fees on all those omelettes and pancakes.

9. Event Venues (Weddings & Corporate)

I stumbled upon these last year when my daughter got married. This is a high-ticket play. When a venue owner realizes Dual Pricing saves them $300–$500 on a single wedding deposit, the conversation ends and the paperwork starts. Don’t Sleep on the DJ’s, Photobooth peeps, photographers, they all take deposits and cards.

8. Specialized Healthcare (Dentist, Optometrist & Opticians)

Stable, professional, and low churn. I’ve had some of these on my books for years. They value the fact that I keep them PCI compliant without the headache.

7. Boat & Independent RV Sales/Repair

This is a powerhouse for me. locally owned RV dealers I stumbled on by accident. Between used sales and $10,000 service repairs, the tickets are massive. Saving them 3.5% on a $40k used trailer is a life-changing amount of money for a small dealer.

6. Dry Cleaners

These are cool because they have good average tickets and many have more than 1 location. If you land the main hub, you usually land 3 to 5 drop-off spots. It’s the fast way to scale your residuals in one afternoon.

5. Car Audio & Specialty Custom Shops

I’ve learn to love the “gearhead” crowd. They want the newest, sleekest tech on the counter. Their customers are enthusiasts who don’t blink at Dual Pricing—they just want their sound system installed right.

4. B2B & Wholesale Distributors

The long game. It takes a few more meetings, but the volume is unmatched. I use the pitch on level 2 & 3 to undercut their current bank rates while still keeping my margins healthy.

3. Radiator & Transmission Shops

The best “dirty hands” accounts. High tickets ($2-4k+), urgent repairs, and owners who tell it like it is. They hate the banks, and they love that I can give them their money back via Dual Pricing.

2. Restaurants (Mexican, Sushi, & Hibachi)

My bread and butter. Sushi and Hibachi places have those beautiful $60+ average tickets. Once you land one in a strip mall, the neighbors usually follow, if you FOLLOW UP.

And my # 1 Top 10 Vertical I like to target is …..

1. Tire Shops & Full-Service Auto Repair

The last few years my #1 target has been tire shops. It’s the perfect mix of high volume and high tickets. Whether it’s a $1,200 set of tires or a $3,000 engine job, these guys are losing thousands every month to fees. Walking in and “fixing” their high processing fees and showing them they can keep 1200-2500 in fees is one of the easier closes I have.

Honorable mentions : The Seasonal “Cash Cows”

I always keep a calendar for these. They only pop up for a few months (or even weeks) a year, but the volume they push is insane, and since they are “temporary,” they usually have terrible rates from their current provider.

  • Meat Markets & Deer Processors: During hunting season, these guys are slammed. A single hunter might spend $500 + on processing. It’s a fast, high-ticket niche that most reps ignore.
  • Crawfish Shops: In season, these places are a madhouse. The lines are long, the volume is high, and the tickets add up fast. They need hardware that can handle a fast-paced (and often messy) environment.
  • Fireworks Stands: Talk about a sprint! They do an entire year’s worth of business in two weeks. They need reliable, mobile LTE terminals and a rep who can get them set up now.

As you head out this Friday, remember why we target these specific doors. We aren’t out here trying to “save someone a few basis points.” We are out here to fundamentally change their bottom line.

When you walk into that Tire Shop or that Transmission Bay, you aren’t a “credit card guy”—you are a business consultant. You are walking in with a solution that, for the first time in their career, lets them keep the full sticker price of their labor.

Think about it: These guys are sweating over hot engines and breaking their backs for $150 an hour, only to hand over $4.50 of every hour worked to a bank that hasn’t picked up a wrench in its life. When you frame it that way, and show them how Dual Pricing puts that money back in their tool chest, you aren’t just making a sale. You’re building a partnership.

The “Long Game” B2B accounts might take three months to sign, and the RV Dealer might need to talk to his partner first, but that’s the work that builds a legacy. Use this list to stay focused. Don’t get distracted by the easy “no-volume” doors. Go where the tickets are high, the greasy handprints are on the counter, and the owners are ready to take their profit back.

The weekend is coming, but the residuals are forever. Let’s get one more “YES” before the sun goes down.

Have a great weekend,

David
