This is it, people. This is what we’ve been training for.
What a week it’s gonna be. Last Friday, we were dusting off our Justin Timberlake memes because “It’s Gonna be May.” Then Saturday hit us with the shocker that Spirit Airlines has finally “gave up the ghost,” leaving a gap in the budget travel market. We barely had time to process that before yesterday’s “May the 4th Be With You” celebrations had us dreaming of galaxies far, far away.
But today? The calendar gods aligned Cinco De Mayo with Taco Tuesday, they created the ultimate high-volume transaction event. While our merchants are sprinting to keep the chips flowing and the terminals buzzing, here is how you should be enjoying the greatest Tuesday in history:
How to Survive (and Thrive) During the Ultimate Tuesday
- The “Supportive” Lunch Break: Go visit your local clients! Don’t just call—show up. Order a plate of tacos, soak in the atmosphere, and see your POS systems in action under pressure. Nothing builds a relationship like being the friendly face in a sea of hungry customers (and maybe leaving a killer tip).
- The Margarita “Calibration” (After Hours): Once the mid-day rush settles, find a patio. You’ve been grinding through a weekend of airline news and Jedi mind tricks. You’ve earned a Margarita. Use this time to toast to your merchants who are currently processing more transactions per minute than a Spirit Airlines refund queue. Too soon?
- Host a “Taco Tech” Huddle: If you’re in the office, don’t settle for a sad desk salad. Get a taco bar delivered. It’s the perfect time to brainstorm how you’re going to help your clients handle the next big rush. Success tastes better when it’s wrapped in a corn tortilla.
- Embrace the Chaos: Look around at the crowded restaurants and the long lines at the food trucks. For most people, that’s a “wait time.” For us? That’s the sound of interchange and processing volume. Enjoy the “music” of a busy economy.
The signs are up, the limes are sliced, and the terminals are charged. Let’s help our merchants make this the most profitable Taco Tuesday the world has ever seen.
Cheers to high volumes, High Residuals, and extra guac!
Happy Selling,
David
