Where Are You Standing on the Ladder of Achievement Today?

Over the weekend, I was going through some old books and came across a old book called The Portable Pep Talk: Motivational Morsels for Inspiring You to Succeed by Alexander Lockhart. Tucked inside its pages was page I had folded called The Ladder of Achievement. As soon as I read it, my mind immediately jumped to our industry.

Friday’s Top 10: Why Back-to-School Season is Prime Time for Selling Merchant Services

Does it feel weird to anyone else that “Back to School” season is already here? For most around the country, kids are heading back to the classroom next week. I still clearly remember the days when school didn’t start until after Labor Day. Those were the days!

Summer is When Real Winners are Made

Depending on where you are in the country right now, it is Hot.

I’m not talking about “nice sunny day at the beach” hot. I’m talking about step-out-of-your-car-and-instantantly-start-sweating hot. The kind of heat where the pavement hums, the air feels like a damp blanket, and your dress shirt is sticking to your back before you even walk through the doors of your first business of the day.

And let’s be honest with each other: When it’s this hot, prospecting feels brutal.
