Consistency Pays Off in Prospecting

Good morning everyone,

Remember the old saying the early bird gets the worm? forget the early bird. The most persistent bird gets the worm.

Ask yourself: Am I consistent in how I use my time, how I schedule my time? Am I consistent in how I stay engaged with my customers and how I follow up?

Many salespeople struggling to close deals are simply lacking one thing: consistency.

Consistency in time management.

The most successful salespeople are the ones who are absolutely consistent with their time. I get to work with some absolute top performers in a number of industries, people who are rocking it and commanding massive, massive paychecks. In fact, they all tell me one thing. They say, “David, our lives are really quite boring because we’re absolutely consistent with how we use our time.”

They’re disciplined, they’re absolutely dialed in, know exactly what to do, when to do it, and they don’t deviate from it. One guy tells me, “Every morning at nine o’clock, this is exactly what I’m doing. Every morning at 10 o’clock, this is exactly what I’m doing. The only deviation is if I happen to be on the road.”

Answer yourself this question, are you consistent? Because when you create consistency, it’s amazing how it becomes repetitive.

Consistency in how you prospect.

I see too many people make a bunch of phone calls and then they never come back and follow up. They have one sales call, but they’re not consistent in their follow-up.

The sale is made in the follow-up. It’s not made on the first call. Are you demonstrating consistency in your follow-up?

There are so many surveys and studies out there it could make your head spin, but the average customer buys after six or eight calls, but the average salesperson gives up after three or four (or something close to that). I’m going to venture to say that you are not being consistent enough.

Have something to share every time.

Don’t sit there and say, “Mark, I don’t have enough information to share.”

That’s your problem; you haven’t taken the time to develop the information to share.

Every time I reach out to a customer, I’m giving them new insights, new messages. Don’t tell me “I’m reaching out to them too often. I’ve called them five times and they’re not interested.”

I’ve had many people that I’ve called numerous times and they totally ignore me, but ultimately they do come back and buy from me and they say, “Thank you for reaching out because you stayed consistent. I just never had time to reach out to you, but I do want to talk with you, and now’s the time I want to.”

Pro tip: Use your CRM to set your focus!

If you work diligently at prospecting but the potential buyer does not see the value you bring you’ll get vetted. A great prospecting strategy includes two words: Consistency and Credibility.

You must execute a prospecting strategy consistently.

Happy Selling,

David

One More Call: The Power of Making One Extra Sales Call Per Day”

In sales, every call counts. Whether you’re striving to meet your targets, expand your client base, or grow your revenue, making one more sales call per day can make a significant difference. Let’s explore the benefits of making that extra call and share actionable tips to help you incorporate this habit into your daily routine.

The Power of One More Call: Imagine the impact of making just one extra sales call each day. Over the course of a week, a month, or a year, those additional calls can compound into substantial residual results. By reaching out to one more prospect or following up with one more lead, you increase your chances of connecting with potential customers, uncovering new opportunities, and closing more deals in turn giving yourself a raise.

  1. Expand Your Reach: Making one more sales call per day allows you to expand your reach and engage with a broader audience. Whether you’re targeting new prospects or reconnecting with existing contacts, each call represents an opportunity to introduce your products or services, showcase your expertise, and build relationships. By casting a wider net, you increase your chances of identifying qualified leads and generating valuable opportunities for your business.
  2. Accelerate Your Pipeline: Consistency is key in sales, and making one more call per day can help you accelerate your sales pipeline. By proactively reaching out to prospects and nurturing leads, you keep the momentum going and move prospects through the sales process more efficiently. Even if every call doesn’t result in an immediate sale, each interaction contributes to building trust, uncovering needs, and advancing the relationship, ultimately paving the way for future conversions.
  3. Seize Opportunities: In sales, timing is everything. Making one more call per day increases your chances of reaching prospects at the right moment, when they’re most receptive to your message and ready to take action. Whether it’s following up on a recent inquiry, addressing a specific pain point, or capitalizing on a timely opportunity, that extra call allows you to stay top of mind and position yourself as a valuable resource to your prospects.
  4. Cultivate Persistence and Resilience: Making one more sales call per day isn’t just about the immediate results—it’s also about cultivating persistence and resilience in the face of challenges. Sales can be a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, and it’s easy to become discouraged when faced with rejection or setbacks. By committing to making that extra call each day, you develop a mindset of resilience and determination, knowing that every effort brings you one step closer to success.
  5. Track Your Progress and Celebrate Wins: As you incorporate the habit of making one more sales call per day into your routine, track your progress and celebrate your wins along the way. Keep a record of your calls, follow-ups, and outcomes to measure your performance and identify areas for improvement. Celebrate each successful connection, meaningful conversation, and closed deal, no matter how small. By acknowledging your achievements, you stay motivated and inspired to continue pushing forward.

Making one more sales call per day may seem like a small change, but its impact can be profound. By expanding your reach, accelerating your pipeline, seizing opportunities, cultivating resilience, and celebrating wins, you position yourself for success in sales. So, pick up the phone, pull that door handle, and make one more call today. Who knows? It could be the call that changes everything.

Avoid Distractions

You have made a commitment and you have a big set of goals that you want to achieve. Perhaps you have been working on some of these goals for a long time. You are doing what it takes to make an impact to achieve those goals. But for some reason, distractions keep getting in the way and slowing or stopping your progress.

This can happen to all of us. Let’s face it, there are a lot of distractions that can reduce our focus and stop us from accomplishing what we want in life. When we allow ourselves to get distracted, it takes away our momentum. When it comes to achieving a goal, you can break success or failure down to either distraction or direction.

Distraction is anything that’s preventing us from giving our full focus to achieving the goal. Distraction will take you off course and make it impossible to keep your mind focused on your goal.

Direction is a path that leads you to success. When you set goals, you also define the steps that you must take to achieve them. As long as you avoid distractions and stay focused on the direction, your goals can be accomplished. The truth is in most cases, distractions are a choice. Many of us allow ourselves to become distracted, which takes us away from our primary focus. Whether you realize it or not, you have more control over your focus than you might think. Perhaps you have been allowing distractions to get in your way. Now is the time to regain focus and get your productivity back.

Begin by being more mindful about the way you are spending your time. When you become more intentional about avoiding distractions, you will take your focusing skills to a whole new level. Successful people have learned to master their time. They understand that every second counts. If you want to eliminate distractions, you must start your day with a clear success plan. Take the time to set your priorities. By gaining clarity and establishing priorities at the beginning of your day, you position yourself to handle distractions and maintain your focus on what truly matters. You will find as you are working your plan that when blessings are near, distractions will appear.

This is why it’s important to stay focused. So write out your goals and create an environment that reinforces those goals. Connect with some good accountability partners that will remind you to stay clear of bad habits and hold you accountable towards achieving your dreams. Surround yourself with people that are positive and supportive, and stay away from the naysayers. When you achieve a major milestone on your path toward your ultimate goal, reward yourself for your accomplishment. Then get right back to work!

Remember why you began in the first place. You have some incredible dreams and you have been gifted with talent to achieve them. Eliminate all distractions and get focused on what you want to accomplish. Make every second count and go out and make it happen. You’ve got this!

Don’t allow any distractions to get in your way.

Happy Selling,

David

NO SHORTCUTS

When it comes to achieving success, there are no shortcuts. The price of success is paid through determination and hard work. If you want to succeed in anything that you are doing, you have to make the commitment and go out and make it happen. There truly are no valid shortcuts to success and greatness.

Far too many people are looking for the quick and easy way. If you are looking to find a shortcut, you are simply not working hard enough on the fundamentals. There are no substitute for the basics and that first basic is just simply applying the effort. I’ve often heard people say that they want to work smart, not hard. If you want to achieve greatness, your philosophy should be to work smart and hard.

All over the Internet, you will find so-called entrepreneurs that are going to teach you tiny tricks to make life and work easier. The truth is, these are just gimmicks which tell us they can reduce our time and effort to achieve our goals by following their simple method. Unfortunately, all this just leads to disappointment.

High-level success takes time. We have to be realistic about how long things will take and we have to be honest about the effort that is required. Once we have established that there’s no secret shortcut, we have to simply acknowledge what’s really required and go out and make it happen.

Hard work is what makes achieving a goal motivating and satisfying. There really is no glory in achieving something that anyone can do by following one simple plan. It just doesn’t happen that way. Find out what it is that you would like to accomplish in your life. You can actually give yourself permission to go slow and steady when working toward those goals. Keep putting in the effort and as time goes on, you will get there.

If you have already put together some goals, take a look at them and do some self reflection. Are you putting in the effort that it’s going to take to achieve your dreams?

Perhaps you have found yourself trying to cut corners or looking for the shortcuts to make it go easier and faster. Now Is the time to get rid of that mindset and understand that there are no shortcuts to success. If there was, everyone else would be doing it. Your dreams matter and you have the opportunity to go out and achieve them. It’s time to take a step back and remind yourself that the easiest and quickest way to success is consistent hard work.

So my reminder for you today, is that there are no shortcuts to success. Works smart and work hard and put in the time and effort that’s necessary to have your dreams come true. You can do this!

Friday’s Top 10 Ways to Make the Most of Each Day

You can increase your sales performance significantly just by practicing time management.  Time is one of our only resources in short supply.

Today I’m going share some strategies for how you can get control of your time.

From the Home Office in Lizard Lick, North Carolina

Here are this Friday’s Top 10 Way’s to Make the Most of Each Day

10. Plan your day. “Tomorrow begins today.”

If you wake up in the morning and you haven’t planned the day out, specifically what you’re going to do, guess what? You’re going to waste.

9. Build your plan, work your plan.

You’ve taken the time to build your plan the night before, then that day you actually work it.  You own the day. Don’t let the day own you.

8. Know your numbers.

This doesn’t mean your quota. This number is the key metric that you need to hit every day to achieve success in your job. An example could be the number of calls you need to make, the number of emails you need to send, or conversations you have to have.

Know your metrics, and that if you hit them, you will be successful.

7. Practice the 10:00 AM rule.

Take your smartphone and you set the alarm for 10:00 AM.

If I can accomplish something significant by 10:00 AM, I will have made it a great day. On the other hand, if I wait and I’m about to do something significant—make that big call, work on that important proposal—in the afternoon…chances are you won’t get to it. You’ll wind up pushing it off to the next day.

Get it done and get it done before 10:00 AM. This way, even if the day goes poorly, you will have had a good day.

6. Block your time and honor your calendar.

You block time on your calendar for the prospecting calls, the meetings you’re going to have, but you should also block time with yourself,

5. Schedule meetings with yourself.

That’s the white space in your calendar. It’s very important that you schedule meetings with yourself so that you have time during the day to update your CRM system, respond to emails, etc.

4. Reward yourself.

Take credit when you accomplish a significant task or activity by turning off work and pursuing something else.

I do this all the time. If I’ve accomplished something significant, I’m going to take 10 minutes and just stop. I’m going to go check ESPN.com or I’m going to go do something I want to do to reward myself. It helps me feel a sense of accomplishment and it gets me back in a groove when it’s time to work again.

3. Celebrate the activities and assess your actions at the end of each day.

I want you to stop and celebrate your day. I want you to congratulate yourself on the most significant thing you did all day. You may have had a terrible day, but maybe you had one phone call go well. Congratulate yourself.

Then you say, what is it I need to do differentlyWhat is it that I need to change? This is going to help you with Number 1, so you can plan what you’ll do differently tomorrow.

2. Stay focused on your objectives.

Before each action you do, ask yourself, is it going to move me closer to achieving my goals? The key is not to be busy. The key is to be productive. I’m productive when I’m moving myself closer to achieving my goals.

And the #1 Way’s to Make the Most of Each Day is …

1. Be obsessed with your routine.

Be obsessed with boredom. The most successful, highly productive salespeople I know are extremely routine-oriented, and they do it with vigor every day. Their success is because they do it every day.

It’s like going to the gym. You can’t think you’ll get physically fit by only going once every couple of weeks. You’ve got to go regularly.

There are many ways to make the most of your day. While it is up to you how you choose to organize your time, these are just a few examples of great ways to ensure that you make the most of each day.

Have a great weekend,

David

4 Keys to Achieving Success in Sales

I want to help you see and achieve the sales success you didn’t think was possible. Combine these four things and you’re going to be well on your way to achieving success in sales.

1. Discipline and focus

The best salespeople in the world are incredibly disciplined with their time and incredibly focused on their objective.

They know exactly who they’re dealing with and what their objectives are. They have laid out their plan, and are strict with their time. In fact, they’re willing to do things that the average performer will not.

A top performer does the tasks that others don’t want to do—making prospecting calls, staying late, working longer, being more diligent with their time. They get more done in the day because of their time management.

2. Commitment to understanding the customer.

The key to achieving success in sales is understanding the needs of the customer. I can have all these names I want to contact, but until I understand their needs, forget it.

How can I put a solution on the table until I understand their needs?

This is why it’s number two, because discipline and focus gives me the time and the process to be able to spend more time with the customer to truly understand their needs.

The average salesperson races forward and never understands the needs of the customer, and then wonders why they can’t close deals.

On the other hand, when you’re achieving success in sales, you can’t even think about proposing or putting anything on the table about the product or service until you understand their needs.

3. Who you associate with

We become the average of the five people we associate with the most. Jim Rohn said that line years ago, and I firmly believe that.

As I look back over my career, the times that I’ve been absolutely successful, I’ve been surrounded by great salespeople. We lift each other up. Other times I’ve struggled and I look back and I realize, that’s because I wasn’t around top performers. I was around low, even average performers.

This is why top performers always have a peer group they can reach out to and connect. You have to be absolutely careful about who you associate with, and if they’re not a top performer, you don’t have time for them.

Spending time with other top performers is going to lead you to better answers, better questions, better ideas as to how to understand your customer better.

4. Where you draw your strength

This is often your faith, your personal faith, your belief system. For me, it’s my belief in God; it’s my walk with Jesus.

Some of you might be getting a little bit squirmy, but here’s why I say this. My faith is my anchor. Now, you may not choose that. You may choose something else, but you have to have a belief system.

Being in sales, even if you’re disciplined and focused, even if you’re hanging out with the right people, it’s still rough out there. Every top-performing salesperson I deal with has a very strong faith.

Yes, there are going to be highs, there are going to be lows, and it’s your belief system that anchors you.

It’s your belief system that allows you to start the day off right. My personal faith is something I start off with each day—combined with my exercises—and it’s made me the man I am today.

Happy Selling,

David

The Mental Game

It’s often been said that if you change your mindset, you will change your life. We’ve talked about mindset many times and we should all know by now that changing your mentality is a skill that will allow you to control your destiny and make the most of every opportunity that comes your way.

If you truly want to change your life, you have to change your mentality. It sounds like a simple formula, yet it can be difficult.

When a person has had the same beliefs for many years, they become stuck in their ways. Far too many people cling to their old beliefs that are no longer serving them. Sadly, because of this mentality, they have given up and feel that this is the way it’s going to be for them.

Changing your mentality is all about making a shift in your perspective. It’s all about opening your mind to new possibilities. By doing this, you can create the life that you want to live.

The first step is to understand and recognize that changing your mentality is possible. Once you have come to that realization, it’s time to take the positive steps to make it happen.

Far too many people go through life wandering around not knowing where they are going. They have no goals, vision, or plan. This is why they are stuck with the same old beliefs. You must focus on goals and building good habits. Where would you like to be in life one year from today? Be specific with your goals and start making a plan. Break your big goals down into small goals and work hard at them every day.

We all know that there is a lot of negativity all around us. Whether it’s the people that we hang around or what we watch on TV or see on social media. This, without a doubt, has a big effect on your mentality. Stay away from people who don’t encourage you. Be careful of what you are watching and what you are listening to. Keeping your head clear of negativity is absolutely crucial to getting into the right mentality.

Whether it’s in the business world or every day living, the mind is a powerful tool. Your mind can be your best asset or your worst enemy. A positive mentality gives you the power to change your life completely. When you have the right mentality, it helps you to achieve your goals, becomes successful, and create the life that you’ve always wanted. On the other side, a negative mentality will do nothing but hold you back and take away your happiness. Changing your mentality is absolutely essential if you want to create a long lasting positive change in your life.

Perhaps, you have been stuck in a negative mentality. The good news is that you can change that. You have the power to change your mentality. It may not be easy and it may not happen overnight, but once you truly realize that you have this power, you can change your life dramatically.

This power that you have is an incredible power. It is called “The power to choose.”

Choose to surround yourself with positivity and success. Limit your time on social media and stop watching garbage reality TV. This does nothing but pollute your mind. Start listening to motivational videos and podcasts. Read uplifting and inspirational books. Find a mentor that is in life where you are going or where you want to be. Surround yourself with people that are going to encourage you, inspire you and help you to achieve your goals.

Changing your mentality requires effort and perseverance. I promise you that it is worth it. Once you have made the commitment to do this, new possibilities will open for you. You can find success and happiness that you may have thought you could never achieve. You can create the life that you want to live. Do not hesitate.

Change your mentality and change your life today!

Back to Work

Returning to work after a long weekend always feels like a bit of a chore. You’re still in a kinda vacation mode, possibly still recovering from the sun, liquor and to much food and it can feel like a harsh reality to try and get back into the swing of things right away.

If you’re struggling with the shock of returning to work, here are a few things to help you adjust back to work life.

Focus on your objectives for the day

It can be helpful to create a to-do list with 3 non-negotiables items listed that you need to accomplish that day and several more things you’d like to get done. By having clear goals and the important tasks prioritized, you’ll feel more organized and focused. Work on completing one task at a time before moving onto the next. This will help accomplish completing your to-do list with intent and direction.

Purge your inbox

After a long weekend, you’ll need to tackle your inbox that’s likely filled with spam emails, messages you were CC’d on, etc. If that’s the case, sort your mail by sender vs. when you received it, that way you can go through the emails and focus first on the ones that you’ll need to address from colleagues, prospects, and action required. Anything that’s not relevant, such as spam and junk mail, simply select all and delete.

Schedule wisely

Upon returning to the field, try your best not to have to many meetings or calls scheduled the first couple of days. You want to use that first day or two instead addressing your inbox and tasks you need to get caught up on.

Give yourself time

Getting back to work after a three day weekend, cause be honest most of of you took Friday off as well, allow yourself some time to get caught up. It’s inevitable that you’ll have a lot to do, so take a deep breath and tackle each item one step at a time. By staying focused on your top objectives and prioritizing the most important tasks first, you will get caught up in a timely manner; take it one day at a time.

Happy Selling,

David

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

Today, we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and we celebrate the freedom that comes with it. Let me encourage you on this Memorial Day to take some moments to reflect on those who gave their lives so that we could have the freedom to pursue happiness along with our dreams.

In this world of division, I believe this is a time that we can all come together and pay tribute to our fallen heroes. It’s important that we never take our liberties and freedom for granted.

This past week, I read a wonderful quote by Franklin D Roosevelt, which read “Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy, forget in time that men have died to win them.”

Over the Memorial Day weekend, many of us will get together with family and friends and enjoy a cookout and a day of leisure. It is such a blessing to gather together, but let us all remember the true reason for this three day weekend.

So while we are enjoying this time together, let’s truly honor the reason for this day by taking some meaningful actions. Because of these brave men and women, we get to live a life filled with many blessings. I truly believe that we are blessed to be a blessing to others.

Start by living each day with an attitude of gratitude. You have the ability to change the world one person at a time. Greet others with a smile and make positive connections wherever you go. You never know what people are going through. You can make a difference in people’s lives. Be a source of encouragement to all. Let their day be brighter after meeting you. Sharing your grateful attitude with others can help give them peace, and inspire them to carry that forward.

You can also make a difference by reaching out to those who are left behind. We often greet people by wishing them a happy Memorial Day. However, for those who have lost family or friends that have paid the ultimate sacrifice, Memorial Day is not a happy day for them. Reach out to them and offer encouragement. Pray for them. There are plenty of ministries and organizations that honor our fallen heroes and provide compassion to those who are grieving the loss of their loved ones. Make a decision to volunteer or donate to these organizations. Not only will you bless others, but you yourself will be blessed also.

Always appreciate your freedom to be able to pursue your dreams. Because of many paying this ultimate sacrifice, you have been given great opportunities for success. Take your opportunities that you have in life and go out there and achieve your dreams. What a wonderful way to honor our heroes! You can live a life of success and, in turn, help so many others on your journey.

Finally, make sure you honor the sacrifices of men and women of our Armed Forces. Visit a national cemetery or a memorial. Pay your respects, and I guarantee you will be moved to some incredible emotions.

From the bottom of our hearts, we truly thank all the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice by fighting for our freedom. We continue to pray for the grieving families. We will never forget you and we commit to living with gratitude!

Have a safe & great day,

David

Friday’s 10 Facts about Memorial Day

With Monday being Memorial Day and the unofficial beginning of summer, many Americans will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with barbecues, 5 Ks, and outdoor picnics.

Others will head to cemeteries to honor and remember their loved ones who sacrificed their lives for the sake of our country.

Civilians sometimes confuse Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day. Veterans Day celebrates all the men and women who have served in the U.S. military. Memorial Day honors the men and women who died while serving in the military.

Along with this misconception, there are many other things Americans don’t know about Memorial Day.

From the Home Office in Memorial Mississippi,

Here are The Top 10 Facts about Memorial Day to help you recognize the importance of this federal holiday.

10. It Hasn’t Always Been Called Memorial Day

Originally, Memorial Day was called Decoration Day. The title Decoration Day came from how people spent the day – decorating the graves of soldiers with flowers and flags. This is a tradition that continues today with 260,000 graves at Arlington National Cemetery being decorated with American flags on Memorial Day.

9. There Is Debate about the Birthplace of Memorial Day

History books record the official birthplace of Memorial Day as Waterloo, New York. However, 25 other American cities claim to be the birthplace of the holiday, including Charleston, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia. This is still debated today.

8. The Date Was Chosen for a Specific Reason

According to The History Channel, “On May 5, 1868, General John A. Logan, leader of an organization for Northern Civil War veterans, called for a nationwide day of remembrance later that month. ‘The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land,’ he proclaimed.” May 30 was chosen in particular because it was not the anniversary of any battles.

7. But Now the Date Changes Every Year

The last fact may have caught you by surprise because this year Memorial Day falls on May 29. After originally being celebrated on May 30 for decades, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act in 1968, designating the last Monday in May for Memorial Day.  The reason for this act was to allow Memorial Day to become a three-day weekend for federal employees.  The law went into effect in 1971, which is also when Memorial Day officially became a federal holiday.

6. Memorial Day Originally Honored Lives Lost during the Civil War

Decoration Day was originally intended to honor the lives of those who died fighting in the Civil War. Additionally, Southern states hosted their own Decoration Day, known as Confederate Memorial Day. Some Southern states continue to recognize Confederate Memorial Day. However, after World War I, Memorial Day grew to honor all military members who died serving in any military conflicts.

5. U.S. Presidents Mark the Occasion

It’s customary for the current U.S. president to deliver a speech at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery. President Ulysses S. Grant gave the first Memorial Day speech at Arlington National Cemetery. The speech lasted almost two hours.

4. A Moment of Remembrance Is Held at 3 P.M.

There is a law in place that requires Americans to remember those military members whose lives were lost. According to the White House Commission on Remembrance, “The National Moment of Remembrance, established by Congress, asks Americans wherever they are at 3 p.m., local time, on Memorial Day to pause in an act of national unity (duration: one minute). The time 3 p.m. was chosen because it is the time when most Americans are enjoying their freedoms on the national holiday.”

3. Memorial Day Parades Are a Well-Loved Tradition

Many American families will spend some time enjoying a parade this Memorial Day. This is an ongoing tradition. The Ironton-Lawrence Memorial Day Parade in Ohio, which started in 1868, is the longest continuously running parade, but the first Memorial Day parade was held in Doylestown, Pennsylvania in 1867.  For the largest Memorial Day parades in the country, head to the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C., or the Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade in Queens, New York.

2. Memorial Day Unofficially Begins Summer Travel Season

While the official start of summer begins with the June solstice (June 21, 2023), many Americans treat Memorial Day as the unofficial start of summer. The combination of warmer weather and a three-day weekend also gives way to one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. AAA predicts, “From May 26 through May 29, more than 37 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home, an increase of 60% from last year when only 23 million traveled.”

And the #1 Interesting Facts about Memorial Day is….

1. A Massive Number of Hot Dogs and Beer Are Consumed Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day is often associated with outdoor picnics and barbecues. So, it shouldn’t be too surprising to discover that 70% of Americans plan to cook out for Memorial Day or that Americans consume a ton of hot dogs and beer over the three-day weekend. 818 hot dogs are eaten every second during the summer, beginning with Memorial Day. Plus, Memorial Day is the second-highest-grossing weekend for beer sales (to bad Bud light) in the United States, only behind the Fourth of July. , Interesting to note,  there are more than 120 running (races that take place on Memorial Day so folks can run off the calories they consume over the holiday weekend.

Have a great 3 day Memorial Day weekend and stay safe,

David
