HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

Today, we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and we celebrate the freedom that comes with it. Let me encourage you on this Memorial Day to take some moments to reflect on those who gave their lives so that we could have the freedom to pursue happiness along with our dreams.

In this world of division, I believe this is a time that we can all come together and pay tribute to our fallen heroes. It’s important that we never take our liberties and freedom for granted.

This past week, I read a wonderful quote by Franklin D Roosevelt, which read “Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy, forget in time that men have died to win them.”

Over the Memorial Day weekend, many of us will get together with family and friends and enjoy a cookout and a day of leisure. It is such a blessing to gather together, but let us all remember the true reason for this three day weekend.

So while we are enjoying this time together, let’s truly honor the reason for this day by taking some meaningful actions. Because of these brave men and women, we get to live a life filled with many blessings. I truly believe that we are blessed to be a blessing to others.

Start by living each day with an attitude of gratitude. You have the ability to change the world one person at a time. Greet others with a smile and make positive connections wherever you go. You never know what people are going through. You can make a difference in people’s lives. Be a source of encouragement to all. Let their day be brighter after meeting you. Sharing your grateful attitude with others can help give them peace, and inspire them to carry that forward.

You can also make a difference by reaching out to those who are left behind. We often greet people by wishing them a happy Memorial Day. However, for those who have lost family or friends that have paid the ultimate sacrifice, Memorial Day is not a happy day for them. Reach out to them and offer encouragement. Pray for them. There are plenty of ministries and organizations that honor our fallen heroes and provide compassion to those who are grieving the loss of their loved ones. Make a decision to volunteer or donate to these organizations. Not only will you bless others, but you yourself will be blessed also.

Always appreciate your freedom to be able to pursue your dreams. Because of many paying this ultimate sacrifice, you have been given great opportunities for success. Take your opportunities that you have in life and go out there and achieve your dreams. What a wonderful way to honor our heroes! You can live a life of success and, in turn, help so many others on your journey.

Finally, make sure you honor the sacrifices of men and women of our Armed Forces. Visit a national cemetery or a memorial. Pay your respects, and I guarantee you will be moved to some incredible emotions.

From the bottom of our hearts, we truly thank all the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice by fighting for our freedom. We continue to pray for the grieving families. We will never forget you and we commit to living with gratitude!

Have a safe & great day,

David
